The Estelon loudspeakers have landed.
Estelon, from Estonia. Estonia is a high income European country as rated by the World Bank, across the gulf from Finland. It is where the Skype program was developed. It is probably the most “wired” country in the world, with free Wifi everywhere.
Even before unpacking, Estelon already starts to make a statement about its professionalism and efficiency with their beautiful dedicated well-made flight cases.
All the necessary items for setting up are found inside the flight case, and it’s not difficult to take out the speakers (or to put back in), really well thought out.
Absolutely beautiful workmanship in fit and finish, a sonic work of art. In fact, the Estelon XA is one of the exhibits at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design. The speakers are uniquely shaped and sculpted to very high tolerances. Besides being aesthetically lovely, the speakers’ amorphous shape was designed for excellent sonics.
“The special E-lon shape of the loudspeaker creates ideal conditions for sound reproduction. Its rounded form excludes corner reflections. A narrowing of the tweeter area – the front panel sculpted – to achieve 0 phase at the listening point, while its larger radiuses maintain their excellent influences on the direction diagram. The cabinet becomes wider and deeper at its base for both stability and to allow for the volume required for effective low frequency reproduction.”
Right out of the box even before burn-in, the Estelon speakers are clearly the best loudspeakers we’ve heard that utilizes ceramic drivers, Accuton from Germany.
