These speakers really got me thinking … they would suit almost all low powered amps, whether solid-state or tube, if one values a speaker that will bring out music uncoloured by a crossover in between (the Voxativ Ampeggios are crossoverless). If one prefers more colour, which is a matter of taste, one can always work on the front-end to do so.
 
And the Voxativ Ampeggios are great with the Lavardin amplifiers – easy drive, large-scale sound, excellent timbre and low-level detail – along with the traits mentioned above, best we’ve heard the Lavardin with so far. The Lavardin is further revealed as a truly high-end product sonically.
 
Other good solid-state amps which these speakers would be great with would be the Viola, First Watt, da Vinci, etc., and even the old Pass Labs Aleph series, or the venerable Krell KSA-50 (yes, there were some good Krells).
 
And of course, almost all low-power tube amps would be great with the Voxativ – Wavac, Sun, Yamamoto, Tri, Jadis, Matsumoto, KR, Air Tight, Shindo, Tron, even Cayin as demonstrated in Germany with the Voxativ Ampeggio, and many others. We will be using a 4 watt Trafomatic Audio 2A3 amplifier one of these days to demonstrate.
 
Superb dynamics, speed, taut and tactile bass with the Trafomatic Experience Two 300B 8-watt integrated amplifier.
 
Being sonically “uncoloured”, it can stay in residence for a long time and upgrades or changes can be done instead on the source and amplification if needed. As it is, we’ve seen the Voxativ Ampeggio partnered with really low-priced amplifiers (how about $2000 ?) right up to very high-priced amplifiers, and it all worked.
 
The price of the Voxativ Ampeggio speakers by Schimmel Pianos is not inexpensive, but as the manufacturer pointed out, it is made in Germany and involves the excellent high quality work of Schimmel Pianos.
 
With regards to size, it has very friendly dimensions for many room sizes.
